Virginia Nunes Gutierrez

Co-owner & COO, Bottoms Up Coffee Co-Op & AVANZA Business Solutions

Virginia is an international entrepreneur and renowned healthcare professional. Her educational background is in in Tourism and Social Science from Spain, but her focus for the past 4.5 years has been connecting underserved populations in Columbus, Ohio with critical resources through advocacy, education and training.

Prior to her work as a certified Community Health Worker, she co-owned a successful e-commerce tourism business in the Canary Islands. She co-founded her second venture, AVANZA, in Columbus, Ohio to focus on community and economic development.

She launched her third venture, a coffee shop and co-working space to reduce infant mortality in Franklinton, Ohio in July 2016. Virginia is also a certified Community Health Worker (CHW) and instructor for the CHW course at the Ohio State College of Nursing.

Past and present community involvement includes the United Way of Central Ohio Board of Directors, the Create Columbus Commission, the Ohio Hispanic Coalition, PrimaryOne Health, Forge Columbus, the National Children’s Institute and the Health Advisory Committee for Columbus Public Health.
